ROYAL ENFIELD THUNDERBIRD AT PURANDHAR FORT, PUNE, INDIA. GREAT BIKE, GREAT PLACE TO RIDE TO.Purandhar fort is just 55 kms approx from Pune. One can trek up the fort and enjoy the scene around and within the fort. The climb and the trek is exhileratiing. Take a bottle of water and tea and snacks are available only at the base of the fort. You need to take permission from the Army unit there and ordineraly it is given. Timings are 8 or 9 am to 4 or 5 pm. One can spend two to three hours trekking up and down.
Travel via hadapsar, Saswad and coming back via shirole, Katraj tunnel for a round about trip. Stoo at Sawad for moring breakfast. There are good restaurents. Shirole is also a good place for breakfast or brunch.
The saswad plateau is a beauty to be seen. The plateau is similar to scotland terrains.
Even the smaller roads are in good condition.
There are umpteen roads in between where you can have the greatest rides in this big world.
So, go ahead, go for the rides to Purandhar fort and the saswad plateau.
